Lamb Day 2012

These are old from July but I never got around to posting them and Charlotte's first Lamb Day couldn't go undocumented. It was another great Lamb Day in Fountain Green. This is where Matt's Grandma and Grandpa grew up and his Dad still has the house there. Every July during the town celebration his Dad does a big family reunion.

A few years ago Matt and I started the tradition of running in the Lamb Day 5K. We didn't break tradition this year. I got a PR of 24 minutes (sad I know, I'm slow, but oh well) and Matt stayed with me so he increased his time from last year by a lot. After the race we had breakfast with the family, went to the parade, the park festivities, and the fireworks that night. We actually stayed the whole weekend with Matt immediate family

Matt's sister got a bouncy house for the kids.

Charlotte feeding the neighbors lambs. She totally freaked out and started crying after this picture.

Sitting with grandpa at the parade.

Her first piece of candy. And she didn't even get to eat it.

My Baby is grow up...

I can't believe she is already nine months old. I feel like in the last two months she has developed into an entirely different baby with SO much personality. We went to the doctor on the 30th and she is healthy as can be. (which as a side note I am SO thankful for. Matt comes home everyday from the hospital and tells me about the sick little babies that he sees and it breaks my heart. I feel so blessed to have such a healthy little girl).

Anyway at the doctor she weighed 16 pounds 14 ounces (20th percentile) was 28.25 inches long (80th percentile!!!!) and her head was 65th percentile. Dressing her can be a challenge since she is so long. She can still fit into 6 month shirts but can wear 12 month pants! I grow more in love with this kid every day. I know I am forgetting a million little things I love about her but here are a few things about her at nine months.

-She is trying so hard to walk. She will stand for a few seconds on her own but then wants her security (i.e. my hand, the wall, the stairs, just about anything she can hold on to).
- She has mastered crawling but she always goes very slow and graceful. Matt and I joke she is like a little praying mantis.
- LOVES food. All kinds and lots of it. This girl will eat non-stop. She especially loves little puffs (sometimes I literally have to negotiate with her to finish her veggies and I will give her little puffs). Loves things she can eat by herself.
- Loves to hold certain toys in her mouth to free her hands so she and crawl, stand up, or play with other toys. It can be funny to see what giant toy she will crawl into the room with stuffed into her mouth.
- Is scared of animals.
- Starting to be mischievous, She knows things she shouldn't touch and waits until I'm not looking to get them.
- Loves the toilet. Trying to break this one but no luck so far.
- Draws with her little finger.
- Waves hi and bye
- Climbed stairs for the first time, onto the stage at church.
- First time going to Lake Powell and Bryce Canyon
- Two top front teeth broke through, so no more vampire girl
- She likes to dance with her dad.
- She is so ticklish and laughs so hard when you tickle her neck and armpits
- Loves to cuddle with her head on your shoulder.
- LOVES her silky blankets. I swear she is OCD when it come to having then in her hand while she sleeps. (that and her binky...need to wean that pretty soon)
- Loves to play with toys, go on walks, sit by the waterfall in front of our house, really anything as long as she is with people.

More of summer

Matt was off work on the 24th of July so we went hiking at Silver Lake up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is so beautiful up there. Charlotte loved it...well until the every end but she was a trooper.

Ran into this guy at the top of the hike. Yikes!!!

Charlotte started loving swimming about half way into the summer. My arms would get so tired after holding her so Matt got her a little boat and she LOVES it.

Matt had a really busy week a few weeks ago and every night when he got home he would sit down and fall asleep. This was how I found him one night at 6:30 PM!
Charlotte just being her cute self.
And Charlotte being her vampire self.

Summer...almost gone...WHAT

How Cow!!!! Where has summer gone. Things have been very fun and busy but man it is flying by.  Most days are superb but I would be lying if I didn't admit that certain days I miss my Omaha "family." I miss all of our amazing friends that were literally steps away from our front door and available day and night.

Charlotte and I are adjusting to actually driving places to see family and friends. Despite that, I am loving time at home with my little lady and cherish every second I get to spend with her. I never imagined she would be so perfect (I always promised myself that I would never be one of those annoying parents that thinks their kid is just flawless..but to me she is just perfect...I'm sure the terrible two's and the teenage years might change that so I will soak it up while I still think that).

So, as I said lots going on this summer. Shortly after we got home we spent the weekend with our amazing friends Bret and Carlee in Fountain Green. They just finished dental school and moved back to Utah as well and we couldn't be happier. Sooooooo glad we have them close again.

Charlotte after going to the fish hatchery. She had to much for one day.

Matt mowing the field with Sam on the "tractor". He LOVES doing chores in Fountain Green.

Pool party at aunt Christi's. We have a plethora of pool options this year which has been awesome!!Matt's sister just bought a house and has been good at throwing great pool parties.

Matt's first weekend after starting work. Enjoying the downtime :)
Matt's 28th birthday. He got a little surprise at work.
We had family over for an ice cream bar. I felt bad his birthday was kind of lame this year but he bought a giant tv and sound system right when we got back to Utah so that was all get got for his birthday and he just started work and was on call so we couldn't go anywhere. So, we just stuffed ourselves with ice cream and called it good.

HAPPY 4th of July. I'm glad she has grandmas to buy holiday themed outfits because they aren't my forte. But she looked so cute. Thanks Grandma for thinking of me!!
NOT her best picture but It makes me laugh every time I see it.

TRIP TO DENVER

Spencer got ordained a deacon in July so I drove out with my parents and sister and brother-in-law to be there for it. We had a great time swimming and playing with cousins, exploring downtown Denver, and most of all supporting Spencer. So proud of that little guys. He was my buddy when he was just a little tyke. I can't believe he is already 12!

My sister's friend in Denver owns a horse training ranch so we took the kids over to play with the horses and ride the pony. I can't believe I am posting these pictures I look so gross...it was a million degrees and we were running around all day. Don't judge :)

So guess how much was this horse costs...yeah $55,000!!! I told Matt we should go into horse breeding :)

Swimming with cousins. Pam's pool is where we discovered how much Charlotte loves the water. When we got home we started using our pool a lot more.

Downtown Denver. We went to Coors Stadium, shopping, and walked around in the almost unbearable heat! Just looking at these pictures makes me hot.
She had enough for one day by the time we got back to the car.

My sister-in-law had a baby about seven weeks after I did so Charlotte has loved having her new cousin Mya to play with.

Dahlia and Lisa came to visit from Omaha. I was SO happy we got to see them while the were here. We managed a few girls shopping trips and days at the pool. I was so sad to see them go.

Charlotte and Ellie playing before we went swimming.

Recently Matt decided that he is going to become an expert fly fisherman (primarily due to the fact that he won't buy a boat until after residency and hates to fish from the shore). We decided to go up to Heber with our friends Jeremy and Stacy so Jeremy could show Matt a few things. The boys spent a few hours fishing...not catching.. and then we went out for some BBQ. I only took one picture but luckily it show Matt all decked out in his gear :)
