Asher's New Born Pictures

I know I am a little bias but I think he is the cutest little boy ever. This is Asher at 5 days old.

Asher Franklin

Well after what seemed like a VERY long wait, Asher was born on April 25, 2013 at 10:49 P.M. He weighted 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. I was giving up hope that he would ever come. The calendar due date was April 16th and although the doctors said he was measuring 10 days late I thought they were wrong from the beginning... little did I know they were pretty close.  I went to the doctor in the morning that day and was still at a one maybe two. Matt kept pushing back his week of call at the hospital and waiting was killing us. My doctor said she would induce on Saturday if we wanted her to so I set up the appointment very worried, because I hate the idea of getting induced but not wanting Matt to be on call when the baby came. My mom went with me to the appointment to watch Charlotte and we went to lunch and headed home. She left my house about 2:00 and I thought I might be having contractions (I was "induced" with Charlotte so I wasn't really sure). It was the first time anything actually kind of hurt. Matt got home around 5 and I was pretty sure they were contractions. We decided if they were still going at six we would call my sister to come down when she left work and go to the hospital.

By 6 I was convinced. They didn't feel good at all. We got to the hospital and they checked and sure enough I was in labor and dilated to a 5. We got checked into the room and Matt's mom came down and joined Matt, my mom and I in the room. We turned on a movie and the waiting game began. I loved IMC hospital, they were VERY accommodating to natural birth so they had all sorts of "fun" things to try...the best was the massive hot tub they blow up in the room. Luckily we were only there about three hours and he was born. Natural baby #2 and it was harder than I expected (20 minutes of pushing almost killed me) but the moment I saw his perfect (and screaming) little face it was all worth it. There is nothing like seeing them for the fist time. Unlike Charlotte, I got to hold him immediately. It was amazing.

Our moms headed home around midnight and we went up stairs to recovery. We were both tired and wanted to go to sleep but little Asher wasn't having it so I got to spend some quality time with him that night. Over the next day and I half we had lots of visitors come to meet the little guys. I didn't get pictures of everyone but I got a few. We feel so blessed to have this little guys in our family and couldn't be prouder parents.

Asher about 10 minutes old...

I hate the wheelchair. Just let me walk :)

The cool tub.

Cutest thing ever!!

Charlotte loved him from day one.
