Fall that feels like Summer

We have absolutely loved this fall. The weather has been so good, the fun just keeps on coming. I am actually kind of looking forward to winter this year so we can stay home for a weekend once in a while....I'm sure after the cold hits I will regret ever saying that. I'm so far behind on blogging that some of these pictures are actually from the summer.

At the end of August we went to the Ogden Dinosaur Park with my friend Carlee and her kiddos. I haven't been here for years...and it hasn't changed. It entertained the kids for a few minutes at least.

Charlotte was a little scared of the robots.
 Digging for bones.

A fun filled Labor Day!! Matt has always wanted to go to Hole in the Rock, where the pioneers blew out the canyon wall above Lake Powell. We went down to Escalante with his parents on Friday for a little adventure. To get in from the back way you have to go on a 60 mile dirt road. It only took a few HOURS to get there. We were literally driving through the middle of nowhere. But is was beautiful scenery and the hole in the rock was AMAZING. I am so glad we went. Part of me still doesn't believe they actually took wagons down it. Here are a few pictures.

An "amphitheater" where the pioneers stopped along their way.

Looking down at Lake Powell from the top of the "hole"

Matt planning his take over of the world. Actually he was thinking " I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE...I've lived in Utah for 3 months without a boat"....conclusion to come shortly.
Charlotte trying to stay out of the sun.

Our spiritual Sunday experience. Hiking Calf Creek Falls. Word to the wise, when you are going to hike 7 plus miles DON'T forget the baby backpack. I felt bad forgetting it so I carried Charlotte the whole way (well 90 percent of it). Arms and back were a little tired at the end. But fun and beautiful all the same.

On the way home Matt and I went to Bryce Canyon for the day. I love that place. We took it very easy and only went on a few small hikes. We mostly went to the outlook points you drive to. Having a kid really puts a damper on the 20-mile-a-day hiking habit. It is a great excuse to be lazy :)

As always she was a champ. This kid loves adventure. Although I wouldn't mind a comfy giant hauling me up the canyon either. She has it pretty good.
So we didn't make it out of southern Utah before we had all but decided that life would be much more complete (and full of Lake Powell trips) if we had a boat. So logically....WE BOUGHT A BOAT!!!!! It is an older Sea Ray but it looks great, works great, and pulls a water skiier great. We got it the week after we got home and took it out the next weekend. It was SO SO SO good to wake board and just hang out at the Lake. It helped that is was 90 degrees in the middle of September.

Charlotte loved the new boat, but HATED the life jacket. Poor girl couldn't move.

Enjoying some lunch in the cuddy.

Life is good, we are so blessed and have had the best few months in Utah.
