Trip to Kansas City

Last weekend we had a great trip to Kansas City. It is about a two and a half hour drive from where we live. We originally decided to go down when the church announced the open house for the new temple. We decided to make a weekend out of it.

We drove down Friday afternoon and spent the day at the WWI museum. The place was amazing. It was interesting; I honestly knew nothing about WWI before we went. That night we met up with our friends Dave and Dahlia for dinner at Oklahoma Joes (basically the BEST BBQ in the world). Man I will miss that place when we move. We all went back to the hotel after dinner and took Charlotte swimming for the first time. It was a blast. I am so in love with that girl. I found the cutest swimming suit and was dying to get her in it.

On Saturday we went back to the WWI museum in the morning for a few hours. In the afternoon we went and toured the new temple. It was such a cool experience to go in with Matt and Charlotte. It was a lot different than going in Utah. There were mostly non-members on the tour. It is a beautiful building. I'm glad we got a chance to see it before we move. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Easter

The holidays with kids are great. We had a fun Easter dragging Charlotte all over. She didn't care much about the Easter Bunny at Bass Pro Shops or the Easter egg hunt where we live but I loved every minute of it. We are in the process of moving so I didn't even pull out the Easter baskets.
The grandparents spoiled her rotten so I didn't fee guilty about not going all out. I did get her a princess chair for when she gets a little older.
We had a great Easter dinner with our good friends (the Wrights and Millers).

I don't know why but I LOVE this one!

Four months old

Four months old. I can't believe how fast it goes. But at the same time I don't remember life without my little Charlotte.

We went to her four month checkup yesterday. She was 12 pounds 13 ounces and 25 inches. She was 33th percentile for weight and 75th for height. She is a tall girl!!

I need to be better and writing down stuff that she does so here is goes.

Things she loves to do...

Being outside
Going for walks in the Bjorn
Playing on the floor (especially if mom or dad watch her)
Smiling and laughing (more of a chuckle at this point)
Rolling over (except once she is stuck on her tummy she gets mad)
Babbling (she loves the sound of her own voice)
Reaching out and grabbing toys, especially her singing turtle and my face
Getting her diaper changed and being naked
Riding in the car...most of the time
Sucking on her hands and clothes
Sitting in my lap and playing with my hands (I think I like this more than she does)
Her binky...not sure how I feel about this one
"Flying baby"
Being rocked to sleep
Listening to stories (not sure she really cares but I like reading to her so we'll say she likes it)
And above all else... her milk!

She is so alert and loves to hear new noises and follow every movement with her eyes. She is starting to try to sit up and gets so mad that she can't. She is in the crunch position all the time. We tried the bumbo seat this week and she seems to like it. She continues to be a little angel.

Rolling Over!!!

She is rolling over!!!! Charlotte has been working so hard for a few weeks to learn to roll over. Two weeks ago (March 20th to be exact...but who besides her mother really cares) she rolled from her tummy to her back a few times but then she wouldn't do it again. Then on Saturday we were playing and she rolled from her back to her tummy. She did it all day long so I think she officially has it down. We got it on tape when we were changing her diaper on Sunday. It is amazing that little things that your kids learn can make you so happy.
And a few pictures just because....
