Goodbye July

Happy Father's Day to Matt. This is a little old but I loved the picture so I had to put it up. This was Matt's first offical Father's Day. We started the day with breakfast and gift number one. He loves to grill and smoke meat but all of our aprons are my size and a bit girlie. He is always saying how he wants an apron that actually fits, so that is what he got for Father's Day.
He also got an electronic shaver but I don't have a picture of that. We went to church then had a Father’s Day dinner.

Literally the world's UGLIEST pie. For dinner Matt wanted peach pie. After making the crust I started putting it on the top and ran out. I just started putting the strips on and this is what happened. Luckily when it cooked it all formed together, but it was so awful to begin with I had to take a picture.

The Missouri River continued to rise through July. This is the flooding by my work.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!

We had a great holiday. We started the day with a breakfast at Dave and Dahlia's house. This was the only picture I got of Dahlia and Chelsea’s very patriotic nail polish. Our friend set up a huge slip and slide across the street from our house. It was quite the spectacle. I didn't dare go down with the baby, but it looked like a blast. We ended the day with a bbq at our house. Matt made his famous ribs then we all watched fireworks. Good times.

This is about the closest we have seen to a tornado in Omaha. The sirens were going off and the clouds were swirling but that is all that happened. The storms out here are something to see.

And then there were three....

Our New Addition

We finally went to the doctor on May 14th and she confirmed we are having a baby!! The baby's first picture below was taken at 14 weeks and one day! We are already bias and think she is the cutest thing ever. We are so excited we can hardly stand it! She is due on December 12th.

We went back for our second visit on June 12th. I was 18 weeks and we were just scheduled for a regular checkup. We told the doctor we were going to Utah to see family the following week and she did a quick "sex check" for us so we found out IT'S A GIRL. We were so happy! We didn't care either way but we are SO excited and can't wait to see her. They gave us lots of pictures. She has grown so much it is fun to see how much they change in a month. Here are a couple of the pictures.

I'm slowly but surely expanding as she gets bigger. I am just glad the sickness is gone and things are pretty much back to normal (except for my clothes being a lot smaller).
